I nearly believed them.
I've been thinking a lot lately about my journey and how I got here. To a place where I feel confident, self-empowered and free.
I was reflecting on the number of times limitations were placed on me, and all the times I've proved the “professionals” wrong
Whether that was in school, being placed in the “slow” class, in high school and eventually dropping out, only to get first class honours at university.
Being told that I would need orthotics to support my knees, only to strengthen through yoga.
Being told that I would always need an inhaler for asthma by doctors, only to process the necessary emotions through breathwork to liberate myself from asthma altogether.
Just a few examples of times where I've searched for alternatives to liberate myself, and build a deeper trust in myself and my body. So often we are told this is the way it has to be; you'll always experience this pain; you need to take this pill to….
The body is a highly intelligent system that we are only just beginning to understand, and it's my lived experience that with the correct environment and support, it has the potential to liberate itself from pain and suffering.
I frequently have clients come to me with the belief that this is as good as it gets, only to find, with their dedication, that there is so much more freedom available to them.
Once they give their bodies the space to process the tension they are carrying, often without their awareness, everything shifts.
Call it woo woo, call it what you like. But the work works. But only if you do.
This isn't a space for staying stuck. It's a space for becoming.
